Quick Mocha Breakfast Slushy

It does not matter what time of year it is, I just love all things frozen & creamy. This breakfast slushy is full of fat, protein and fibre to keep you going until well after lunch!

Quick Mocha Breakfast Slushy

Makes one big or two small 

  • 2 tbsp whole chia seeds + 3 tbsp water
  • 6 - 8 ice cubes
  • 1/2 can full fat coconut milk
  • 1/4 cup brewed coffee
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 tsp maca powder (great for morning energy!)
  • 1 scoop of your favourite chocolate protein powder
  1. Start by combining the chia seeds with the 3 tbsp of water and set aside to soak while you prep your remaining ingredients (8 mins)
  2. Place the remaining ingredients into a good blender
  3. When the chia seeds have absorbed most of the water and have become gelatinous, place them into the blender
  4. Blend away until smooth, creamy and slushy
  5. Enjoy right away or pop the smoothie into the freezer for a few minutes if you prefer a more frozen slushy
