Apple Chips

This is an incredibly easy recipe.  It's quite quick, too.  The only time consuming bit is allotted to the gentle baking of the apple slices, and depending on how thin you can slice them, this may only take about 45 minutes.  I sprinkled mine with a bit of cinnamon and nothing else, however, the options are endless!

If you have an apple corer, go ahead and core your apple.  It's ok to skip this step and leave it whole.

I used a mandoline to slice even, thin chips.  The thicker you slice, the longer the cooking time.  Sometimes as long as 30 extra minutes! If you're slicing by hand, do your best to go thin and somewhat uniform.

One big apple will make enough chips for one good snack. These guys are addictive!

Try to be a bit more graceful with your seasoning than I have just been.  I  used only cinnamon for these ones, but any combination of spices would be lovely - nutmeg, clove, ginger - anything!  These chips will toast up quite sweet, so, while it may feel tempting, a sprinkle of sugar is quite unnecessary. Lay your slices on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.

Gorgeous!
